Wild About Woodpeckers. How do woodpeckers pound on trees without getting headaches? Which species makes large rectangular holes? Discover answers to these and other questions. Optional craft follows. Meet at the Nature Center. Free. Park vehicle sticker required. 1-3pm. Eagle Trail Hike. Learn how the bluffs formed, identify trees and flowers, and discover a bit of park history. Difficult hiking, two miles. Pack water. Meet at Eagle Tower parking lot. Free. Park vehicle sticker required.

Corn Fest

Featuring a Corn Maze, children’s games, bakery items, food, raffle, silent auction, live music, cornhole tournament, and corn and pie eating contests. Proceeds benefit Sunshine House.

Stargazing

Enjoy the dark sky during the new moon. Bring binoculars, telescopes or use one of ours. Blankets or a chair are suggested, limited seating. To protect night vision, use a flashlight or head lamp with a red filter. Held if skies are clear. Meet by the shelter building by parking lot 3. If poor conditions, meeting on Sept. 10. Call park ahead. Free. Park vehicle sticker required.
